Recently refurbished, this exclusive ship is the next best thing to having your own private yacht. With caviar and champagne available at all times, all-suite accommodation and excellent food and service, this is an upmarket product that many rate as the best in the world. This is a small, intimate ship, carrying just over 100 passengers.
There are no balconies, but there is ample space on deck for the size of the ship. A highlight of the ship is a special Seadream experience, such as a beach barbecue, at the end of every cruise. The food is excellent and service is outstanding – nothing is too much trouble.
There are 5 passenger decks on-board. Deck 2 has retractable water sports platform Marina and Dining Salon/Boardroom. Deck 3 houses the pool bar, card room, Main Salon Bar and reception. Deck 4 includes outdoor massage area, library, piano bar, casino, boutique, SeaDream Spa & Fitness Centre and a beauty salon. Topside Restaurant, medical facility and Open Promenade are situated on Deck 5. Deck 6 features Dream Beds, Yacht Bar, golf simulator and Sun Beds.
Top Deck has private alcoves which facilitate sunbathing on single or twin Balinese sun beds with drinks table and sun umbrella. Leisure facilities include casino, library and bar. For sport/recreational activities there is a gym, an outdoor whirlpool, a Jacuzzi and an outdoor pool. Golf simulator, mountain bikes, sunfish, wave runners, kayaks, zodiac motor boats, sailboat, water-ski and wake boards, snorkel gear and hammocks are also available on-board.
The Asian Spa and Fitness Centre has sauna, thalassotherapy tubs, 3 steam showers, 3 treatment rooms, 4 treadmills with flat screen TVs and 2 elliptical machines. There is an instructor available for personal training. Guests can participate in yoga, tai chi and aerobics courses which are conducted on the deck. Shore excursions are very expensive.
SeaDream I has 55 cabins ranging from Owner Suites (OW) to Staterooms (SR). Owner Suites measure 42 sq metres and Staterooms are 18 sq metres in size. None of the cabins have a balcony. Every cabin has separate sitting area, mirrors, big double or twin beds and picture window with reasonable storage and hanging area.
All cabins have well-stocked fridge, writing desk, custom-made stationery, a couch and table, direct dial phones, safe, air-conditioning which can be controlled by passengers, cruisers can choose between down or synthetic pillows, hairdryer and Belgian linen. The bathroom features bath amenities by Bulgari, a multijet shower massage, slippers and SeaDream bath robes.
There are latest entertainment facilities such as a flat screen TV, radio and CD/DVD players. Internet access is also available and on request laptops are provided.
Owner suites have separate bedroom and living room with dining table. The bathroom has a sea-view and consists of massage shower and tub. There is an extra bathroom for guests.
There are no wheelchair cabins and wheelchair access is not possible.
The Main Lounge has a 61 inch flat screen where music, speeches, recitals and movies are staged. The piano bar is an ideal place for night entertainment. The casino has 2 tables for games and few slot machines. There is pianist/band which plays music for dancing. There are no shows or cabaret on-board.
The library has writing tables with PC outlets. DVDs and books are also available here. The ship has a small card room.
There are no special arrangements for children though they can be accommodated on-board.
The ship has 1 main and 1 alternate restaurant. Dining Salon is the informal restaurant where food is presented with elegance. There is private dining area which can accommodate 8-10 people. This facility is not available when the ship does not have full capacity in order to create an intimate atmosphere.
Topside Restaurant serves outdoor lunch and dinner when the weather conditions are good. If arranged with the staff earlier, tables will be set on the deck for al fresco dining. For breakfast cereals, fruits, breads and yogurt are offered at the minibuffet. Hot dishes can be ordered from the menu the lunch menu consists of gourmet meals.
The 24-hour pantry provides snacks. Afternoon tea is served in the library/Yacht Club area. All menus offer vegetarian options. For lunch and dinner house-selected wines are available. In addition to this there is an excellent wine list available on-board.
During the day dress code is casual. For evenings it may range from smart casuals to informal for men and for ladies it is casual elegance. For men smart casual means shirt and trousers, informal indicates jacket and tie. Formal evenings require suit/dinner jacket for men and cocktail dress for ladies.
24-hour cabin service is provided.
